Jim Mumford, CLP, GRP

Owner/President & Resident Horticulturist

Jim MumfordProfessionally trained in landscape design, floral design and business management, Jim is an award winning floral and plant designer and a recipient of numerous plantscaping design awards, both locally and nationally. Jim is a member of Silverado's select group of nationally recognized plantscapers, a Certified Landscape Professional, a licensed contractor and soon will be certified as a Green Roof Professional and LEED AP. He was the 2005-2006 President of the Plantscape Industry Alliance (PIA) and is an ongoing member of their Board of Directors.

Additionally, he's an active member of the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), People for Livable Places (PLP), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the Downtown Partnership's Sustainability Committee. Jim has been featured on local television stations and quoted in several local publications including San Diego Magazine where he was profiled for his entrepreneurial spirit in the growth and success of his company. He has been widely recognized for his design and award projects, his work with the architectural and design community, and is well known for his leadership in the industry.

Good Earth's participation in such special event ventures as Super Bowl 2000, World Golf Tournament 2004, and San Diego Street Scene has brought the company name to the forefront of the San Diego business community. With the creation of GreenScaped Buildings, he sees yet another successful element to the Good Earth family, and has been instrumental in creating the permitting process for green roofs in the City of San Diego. A long time San Diego resident, Jim and his family were fortunate survivors of the 2003 Cedar and Paradise wildfires. They currently reside near San Diego State University.
